The Congregational Church of La Jolla (U.C.C.) is committed to providing a thoughtful and fun religious education program for its children. After the children's message, kids are dismissed from the worship service to attend age-appropriate Sunday School classes, taught by teachers who have carefully prepared their lessons. All children are welcome to attend our Sunday School classes—including our Nursery (for infants and toddlers)—and no preregistration is necessary. If you have any questions about or program or our curriculum, please contact the church office.
We currently have three teachers:
Annie Barrio, a UCSD student who grew up in Los Angeles. Currently majoring in social psychology, her goal is to continue on to grad school to get her Ph.D. and eventually open a private practice in marriage and family counseling. Her favorite hobby is photography.
Karen Lee was born in South Korea, but moved to this country at a very young age. She considers L.A. to be her hometown, and is currently a human development major at UCSD. Her hobbies include running and cooking, and her past activities have included babysitting, vying for the title of Miss Downey, tutoring middle school students, and working in her college dining hall.
Jayne Min is originally from the city of Los Angeles, and is currently a student UCSD majoring in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Her future endeavors are to explore the areas of medicine and research in pharmacy grad school, as well as in the laboratory. She also enjoys exploring the outdoors and watching movies in her leisure time.
